Conference on Teaching, Education and Learning (ICTEL) conference is one of
best academic event in Teaching and Education theme, which took place on 25th
& 26th of November, 2016 at Middlesex
University Mauritius, Avenue Droopnath Ramphul, Bonne Terre, Vacoas,
Mauritius.
The event brought together around
41 Participants from around 15 different countries to review and discuss the
latest challenges of Teaching and Education. International Conference on
Teaching, Education and Learning (ICTEL) is known to have valuable networking
opportunity and set the stage for further cooperation among the
participants of different countries.
The conference began with opening
remarks by Honourable Keynote speaker highlighting the main context on
Education and Teaching Issues.
The main aim of this conference
was:

To discuss latest challenges/researches in
teaching and education domain

Generating academic and professional
relationships
·
Boosting morale and confidence of researchers in
an international platform
·
Networking among the participants
·
Providing a holistic experience of academic
tourism
We would begin
with session 1. The details are as below.
Session 1: Welcome and opening Speech
In the Opening of the conference, Ms. Rakhi Gupta, FDPM-IIM Ahmadabad,
India, highlighted the context related to education and teaching issue
emerging around the world.
Dr. Arjoon Suddhoo, National Laureate, Executive Director of Mauritius Research Council, emphasises major impacts of teaching and education.
Dr. K S Sukon (Kaviraj), Director-General of the Open University of Mauritius, provides the solution to the major issues and drawbacks in the field of Teaching, Education & Learning.
Session 2: Technical Session
In this technical session Participants
of International Conference on Teaching, Education and Learning (ICTEL)
presented their papers related to their Research and Study. Some of the major
issues that were discussed can be outlined as:
1. Critical Race Theory-infused
Curricula Transformation in South African Institutions of Higher Learning
Presented by Prof O S Sibanda
Affiliated to School of Law, College of Law, UNISA.
2. The Impact of Industrial
Placement on Students, Employability Skills in Teritiary Education Presented by
Dr Nirmal Kumar Affiliated to
Faculty of Buisness and Management, Mauritius.
3. Financial Literacy in Indian
Scenario Presented by Dr Vaibhav
Affiliated to Faculty of Commerce, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India.
In order to Promote Young Researchers,
GRDS International conferences, Provides
Young Research Scholarship in the form of full Registration fee waiver to
participate in such events.
Young Research Scholars of International Conference on Teaching,
Education and Learning (ICTEL) were:
Canayah Cuniah, University of technology, Mauritius: He presented the topic ‘Effective Assessment of written-based Computer Programming Codes: Using a Grid Based Pedagogical Approach.
In each, GRDS International conference, best paper award is given to best researches. In International Conference on Teaching, Education and Learning (ICTEL), Best paper award is given to the participants with best scholarly paper submitted and presented at the conference. In International Conference on Teaching, Education and Learning (ICTEL) conference, Best Paper Award was given to paper ‘Turning the Flashlight on Human Resources in Schools: A case study in a Secondary School in Mauritius’ Submitted by Mrs Nathalie CONGO-POOTTAREN Affiliated to Lecturer Mauritius Institute of Education.
